The Last Few Miles

Sanibonani (hello in Siswati)!

This week has been full of God’s blessings.  He has been meeting all of us here in new ways and creating in our hearts a greater faith and love of Himself.  Every night this past week,  the team has been attending revival prayer meetings taking place at our host church.  These meetings have been a refreshing time with much singing, teaching, and fellowship in the Spirit.  Quite a few of the students have offered to share some testimonies, or short God stories from their lives at these meetings.  It is such a blessing to see how God has used them to bless the people here as well as our team.

We are getting ready and excited for our time at debrief where we can relax and reflect.  It is our prayer however, that we stay strong in our last days of ministry- it is often easy to “check out” spiritually and in ministry in the last week.  Please pray for perseverance as we finish things up!

Since the trip is coming to a close, communication will be more sparse, but please continue to pray diligently for us however the LORD leads you to pray!

And thank you all again and again and again for all your prayers and support!

God bless you,

  1. PRAISING GOD to find this waiting for me this morning. And yes, we’ll definitely be praying that this last week is rich and full to overflowing…making the most of the last bit of Swaziland.

Just a reminder that we’re still swapping stories, photos, and prayer requests at facebook among a growing group of family members if anyone wants to join in. Just search for “Elysa Mac”. I’m also posting some of the info at my blog if you’d rather not go the facebook route.

Thanks for the news, leaders, and can’t wait to hear all about it NEXT WEEKEND!!!

  3. Praise God for the ways He is using the team to bless those around you! Praise God for the ways He is growing your faith and love for Him. It is so exciting to see Him at work in the lives of young people who were willing to give up their comforts of home to serve Him in a foreign land with complete strangers. Praise God that all of you were able to build unity quickly and have worked so well together.

I will continue to pray for you all in the last leg of your journey. May God be with you and continue to use you mightily!

  4. Thanks for another update… I am always so excited to see a message saying there is a message from you all..
As I was reading this, I am imagining you singing and praising the lord at your nightly church revivals..
I hope Rachel was one of those who shared her stories of faith and I am sure she was, she loves to share her faith in God.
Praying that you all have an awesome last week in Swazi and you all come back safe and renewed in your friendships and faith in God.
9 DAYS AND COUNTING…We love and miss you Rachel! Love mom.

  5. Every morning I wake up and the first thing that I do is check to see if there is an update. I am so thankful that I woke up to an update today. We are praying for yall continually along with so many other people. It is such a blessing just at the thought of how the Lord is using yall there in Swaziland. Our God is so amazing and we know that not only is He at work through yall to pour out His love on those people of Swaziland, but at the very same time we know that He is at work in each one of you. Even us here, I know that we have all been touched and moved by the Lord just by yall being there and whatever He is doing. Can’t wait for you to get home so we can hear in person all that He has been doing. We will continue to pray fervently for yall in these last days. We love you LuLu and miss you more than you know. Love you forever…………

  7. Hi Carol, Rachel’s mom. I am Christopher’s mom. We live in Yelm, Washington. My son, Christopher is flying in to Seatac on a different flight than Rachel (an earlier one I think) and he had asked me to check and see if they could just fly in together. It would be nice to meet one of his team mates and her family. Not sure if I can change the flight without incurring a fee, but want to look into it. Can you send me her flight # and time so I can check into this? You can send it to my email: [email protected]. Thanks, Cristi Haylett (Christopher’s mom)
