Hi! My name is Amy Zarichniak (don’t worry about trying to pronounce it:-) and I am so thrilled to be joining this group for the trip to Swaziland!

 This is me!

About Me: I am in 11th grade, and will be turning 17 at the end of February.  I have been homeschooled my entire life and absolutely love it!  I live in Chester County, Pennsylvania on a beautiful farm (though not quite what you would think in the classic sense – no cows, pigs, or sheep).  I am the proud owner of the funniest and prettiest horse ever, who lives right in the backyard.  I have 1 older brother, a senior in college, and 1 older sister, a freshman in college.  So, a lot of the time it’s just me, my mom and dad at home, though that’s not bad because I love them!

What I do: I am a teacher/aide in the 2yr old Sunday School class at my church, Calvary Chapel Chester Springs.  I have been in that class for the past four years and I am so amazingly blessed to see the kids go through the class; now I see some of them starting 1st grade!  I also spend quite a bit of time outside training my horse along with my sister, who’s out there with her horse also.  I occasionally help my dad when he’s in the barn working on some project.

Me and Missions: I love missions!  In 2000, I went to the Domincan Republic and spent some time in the schools and a hospital.  Although, since I was only 8, I can’t say I was very thrilled to be sitting in a hospital.  In 2004, I went on trip to Russia with 12 other people from my church, along with my mom and sister.  We spent about 3 weeks with orphans over there, playing with them and teaching them Bible lessons.  After Hurricane Katrina struck, my church put together relief trips and I went to Louisiana with others and spent a week fixing up houses.  But please don’t think that I’m some amazing Christian, because I’m just someone who has been blessed to serve God in varying areas.

Well, that covers quite a bit about me!  Have a blessed day!

  3. Hi Amy-

It’s great to “meet” you. My daughter Anna (aka Indie) is on your team. We were a part of a Calvary Chapel church plant in our area for 8 years. We are also homeschoolers AND live on a farm! But like you, we have no pigs or cows but do have a horse and a donkey plus chickens, 2 dogs, and a ZILLION cats. Oh…and Anna has a hermit crab. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh…and a bat. But that’s a whole ‘nuther story. I’m sure you’ll hear lots about him from Anna on the trip.

Praying for your team and looking forward to getting to know you better.

P.S. Anna started a facebook page for your group so if you’re on fb, let her know. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Wow! So great to hear from all of you. I can’t wait to meet all of you also, from everything I’ve been reading, this is looking like an awesome team! Miss Elysa, that is so neat about all those parallels. We’re more of a ‘fun’ farm rather than a working farm, that helps make sense for others. Thanks for the great welcome everyone, I really appreciate it.
