How I was Called to the Mission Field
I’ve always had a fascination with other cultures and travel, and in the last few years I have been really getting into Africa. It’s my dream to visit there, and it’s finally coming true! God definately called me to go on this mission trip, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. ๐Ÿ™‚
Last year I decided I really wanted to live in South Africa for a semester, and began the application process for an exchange program there. After awhile though, I started majorly doubting my decision, and decided to keep my options open. Then last summer when I went to Woodleaf (a Younglife Camp) I really began a deeper connection with God and got more connected in church and started going to bible study… It was then I realized how important it was for me to share the amazing truth and love God has shown me with others.
One day in the summer me and my friend Ray (who’s also going on this trip) decided we wanted to look up possible mission trips. We had a christian magazine with some websites, so we looked up a few trips until this one came up. I remember feeling drawn to it when I first read the trip descrition. I was like, ” Omg we need to go on THIS trip!” That very day we started applying, but I never really thought I would get this far.
Going to Africa has always been a dream of mine, but somehow I never thought it would ever become a reality. For the longest time my friends and family would be like, “Allie, you know you aren’t really going to Africa right?” It’s so amazing that I can finally prove them wrong! It just shows what God can do!

  1. This kind of reminds me of my story… People were doubtful of whether or not I would actually follow my dream of traveling to Africa and put in the time and effort in order to make this dream come true. I am so proud to have come this far and have also done a great job fundraising the necessary amount to cover the cost of my trip. ๐Ÿ™‚
